TINSLEY TOWERS — Sheffield Archive #5
A tribute to the twin cooling towers that told generations of Sheffielders they were nearly home. This black heavy cotton T-shirt carries the Sheffield Archive crest on the front left chest and a large distressed TINSLEY TOWERS composition across the back—remembering the Blackburn Meadows towers, Tinsley Viaduct and the industrial Don Valley skyline from 1938 to 2008.
The design also nods to the towers’ place in Sheffield’s cultural memory, from the view along the M1 to their unforgettable final night on 24 August 2008.
