A tribute to the twin cooling towers that told generations of Sheffielders they were nearly home. This black heavy cotton T-shirt carries the Sheffield Archive crest on the front left chest and a large distressed TINSLEY TOWERS composition across the back—remembering the Blackburn Meadows towers, Tinsley Viaduct and the industrial Don Valley skyline from 1938 to 2008.
The design also nods to the towers’ place in Sheffield’s cultural memory, from the view along the M1 to their unforgettable final night on 24 August 2008.

Machine wash cold, inside out, with similar colours. Tumble dry on low. Do not iron directly over the printed artwork. Do not dry clean.
The Sheffield story behind the design
The Tinsley cooling towers belonged to Blackburn Meadows and became a familiar M1 landmark before their demolition in 2008. E.ON’s history of the site traces its change from coal-fired power to biomass energy. This design remembers the earlier industrial skyline and its place in Sheffield’s sense of home.
