TERMS OF SERVICE
Last updated: 26 August 2026
Welcome to Council Estate Tat.
These Terms of Service apply when you use our website or purchase products from us. By placing an order, you agree to these terms.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
- ABOUT US
Council Estate Tat is an independent UK clothing brand operated by a sole trader.
Trading name: Council Estate Tat
Business address: [PUT YOUR HOME/BUSINESS ADDRESS HERE]
Email: [PUT YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS HERE]
Throughout these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Council Estate Tat.
Our online store is hosted using Shopify. Some products are manufactured and fulfilled on our behalf by third-party fulfilment partners.
- OUR PRODUCTS
We aim to describe and display our products as accurately as reasonably possible.
Colours and appearance may vary slightly depending on your device, screen settings and the printing process.
Please check product descriptions and size guides carefully before ordering.
Products must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described, as required by UK consumer law.
- ORDERS
When you place an order, you are making an offer to purchase the products in your basket.
You must provide accurate and complete information when ordering, including your name, delivery address and contact information.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order where reasonably necessary, including where payment cannot be authorised, we reasonably suspect fraud or misuse, a product is unavailable, there is an obvious pricing or product-listing error, or we cannot fulfil the order for another legitimate reason.
If we cancel an order after payment has been taken, we will refund the amount paid for the cancelled item or order.
- PRICES AND PAYMENT
Prices are displayed in pounds sterling (£) unless stated otherwise.
The price shown at checkout, together with any applicable delivery charges, is the amount you will be asked to pay.
Payment must be successfully authorised before an order can be processed.
We may change prices at any time, but this will not affect orders that have already been accepted.
- PRINT-ON-DEMAND PRODUCTION
Many Council Estate Tat products are produced specifically after an order is placed.
We use third-party production and fulfilment partners to manufacture, package and dispatch products on our behalf.
Council Estate Tat remains responsible for your purchase and is your point of contact regarding your order.
Production methods may result in minor variations between individual garments. These do not affect your statutory rights where a product is faulty, damaged, not as described or otherwise fails to meet legal requirements.
- DELIVERY
Delivery estimates and charges are shown during the ordering process where applicable.
We aim to have orders produced and delivered within the times stated on our website or at checkout.
Delivery times are estimates unless we expressly agree otherwise.
Unless another delivery period has been agreed with you, goods will be delivered without undue delay and within the period required by applicable UK consumer law.
Please ensure your delivery address is correct before completing your order.
Further information is available in our Shipping Policy.
- CANCELLATIONS, RETURNS AND REFUNDS
Your rights to cancel an order, return products and obtain refunds are explained in our Return & Refund Policy.
Nothing in these terms or our policies limits your statutory rights.
For eligible online purchases, UK consumers will normally have cancellation rights under applicable consumer legislation.
Different rules may apply to goods genuinely made to a customer's specifications or clearly personalised.
Faulty, damaged, incorrect or misdescribed products remain subject to your statutory consumer rights.
- INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
The Council Estate Tat name, branding, logos, original artwork, graphics, product designs, photographs, text and other original content used on this website belong to us or are used by us with permission, except where otherwise stated.
You may not reproduce, sell, distribute, commercially exploit or create unauthorised copies of our protected content without permission.
- ACCEPTABLE USE
You must not use our website for unlawful or fraudulent purposes, interfere with the operation or security of the website, introduce malicious software or harmful code, infringe another person's intellectual-property rights, or attempt unauthorised access to our systems or accounts.
We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect our customers, business or website.
- THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
Our store uses services provided by third parties, including ecommerce, payment, production, fulfilment and delivery providers.
Their services may be subject to their own terms and privacy practices.
The use of third-party suppliers does not remove any consumer rights you have against Council Estate Tat as the retailer.
- WEBSITE AVAILABILITY
We aim to keep our website available and accurate but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.
We may occasionally suspend, update or modify parts of the website for maintenance, security or operational reasons.
- LIABILITY
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.
In particular, nothing in these terms excludes or restricts your statutory rights concerning faulty, misdescribed or otherwise non-conforming goods.
We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was formed or losses arising from circumstances outside our reasonable control, except where the law provides otherwise.
- PRIVACY
Your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Information necessary to process and fulfil your order may be shared with service providers involved in payment processing, production, fulfilment and delivery.
- CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms of Service occasionally.
The version applying to your purchase will normally be the version in force when you placed your order.
Changes will not retrospectively remove rights you already have under an existing contract.
- GOVERNING LAW
These terms are governed by the applicable laws of the United Kingdom.
If you are a consumer, you retain any mandatory legal protections and rights available to you in the part of the UK in which you live.
Nothing in these terms prevents you from exercising any rights concerning where legal proceedings may be brought under applicable consumer law.
